The

first half of this workout focuses on upper body movements and would

make an excellent warmup for sword or veil work. The lower body section

helps to build strength in the thighs and glutes while incorporating

fluid hand, wrist and arm movements. This moves on to the hips and waist

while also adding heel lifts to work the calves. A challenging shimmy

drill is also included and we finish with a short combination before we

cool down with some nice stretches.

The entire workout (about 45 minutes) will serve as a total body workout for fun and fitness.

Fahtiem

explains each movement so no previous dance experience is necessary but

the movements are challenging enough to give you something to work

toward. More experienced dancers can use this workout to focus on

polishing technique. The dancers accompanying Fahtiem demonstrate how

the look of these movements are unique to each dancer.

A beautiful performance by Fahtiem is included as an extra bonus.
